12 Steps and Expressive Arts

According to the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, the purpose of working the 12 steps is to have a spiritual awakening sufficient for recovery from the hopeless state of mind and body experienced in the throws of addiction. In this 8-week gathering we will explore how expressive arts can help us tap into our body-mind wisdom and support such an experience. Activities include collage, writing, movement, sound, meditation and some messy hands-on play! Most important, no “artistic” skills are needed to participate. Expressive Arts focus on “process rather than product” and the only goal is to experience something meaningful that helps you grow along spiritual lines. Please note: This class is experiential and is not a replacement for meetings or working the steps in a traditional way.*

This class is limited to 12 women and is open ages 18+ with a minimum of one year experience in any 12-step program. We will practice safe sharing and witnessing what comes forth and honor the 12 Traditions that bind us in unity.

Class begins in Winter 2017 and runs for 8 weeks. (Dates/Times/Location TBD!)
