And she puzzled and puzzed ’till her puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something she hadn’t before.
What if serenity, she thought, isn’t really a chore.
What if serenity, perhaps, simply comes from the coeur?
As a person in recovery, I can get stuck in my left brain. And when I say stuck, I mean REALLY stuck; like the kind where I’m so obsessed with a certain path of problem solving that I need to wear astronaut diapers ‘cuz I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon.
Trouble is, there is no destination. In fact, there isn’t even a problem. No, usually what I’m driving at is really nothing more than normal life stuff turned into a downhill trip complete with homemade antlers and a red suit.
Fortunately, what I’m learning EVER SO SLOWLY is that there is another way to be.
It goes something like this: Life isn’t a problem to be solved. Rather, it is an experience to be lived. And a lot of the skills I need to enjoy the experience are not acquired through brilliant thinking. Instead, they are acquired through listening to my intuition and, as the Whos down in Whoville teach so beautifully, by living through the heart.
Does your inner Grinch like to puzzle and puzz, till her puzzler is sore? Then maybe you should consider something you haven’t before!
